The use of glass fibre frames is very popular. Because of their unique properties, they are extremely versatile having amongst other things, structural memory and a very simple folding method. Printing is done on polyester fabrics using digital dye sublimation or silkscreen printing, the chosen method of printing being determined by a client’s campaign requirements. The standard rule being that digital dye sublimation is more suitable for CMYK type artwork, for shorter-term promotional-type campaigns where a smaller to medium size print run is required. This is principally because of the extreme sunlight conditions in certain areas with ultraviolet ray breakdown of inks, which occurs more rapidly on a digital dye sublimation print. Silkscreen, because of its thicker ink coverage on the substrate being more suitable for generic logo printing, particularly in 1 or 2 colours, where long production runs are required.
Why outdoor?
Contrary to magazine advertising, outdoor advertising is “out there”, at the hotspot. For example, you’re at a major sporting event, you won’t be reading a book; instead you’ll be walking around, taking in the atmosphere and all the while you’ll be exposed to outdoor advertising. That new sports drink on the market is displayed majestically on a 4m telescopic flag. They have established their presence. It’s a powerful means of advertising.
Which product?
There are many different outdoor event advertising products available nowadays, as opposed to the original banner of “ye olde days”. Popular items include Pop-ups, Teardrops, Bunting, Windcheaters, Flags and a new product called the Dart Ad. The product best suited for your company really depends on a few factors such as budget, exhibition area and print requirements. Before ordering it is important to discuss these issues to obtain the best advice.
The Dart Ad

It’s the most exciting advertising product to come out of South Africa in years. It is named after it’s shape – it resembles an upright dart – and it’s unique eye-catching design is due to it’s special rotating feature. The three panels rotate in the wind, which makes it the perfect automated advertising banner – just add Mother Nature! Each of the three panels is double-sided, thereby giving the advertiser no less then SIX spaces on which to place branding.
THE 4 KEY SELLING POINTS:
1. Movement - the fins of the Dart Ad are shaped like the wings of an aircraft, designed to catch the wind and to rotate on a bearing in the spike, stand or base plate. Thus a client’s advert will be more pertinent because the eye is attracted to movement.
2. Three Dimensional - the fins are double-sided and can be viewed from any angle when approaching the Dart Ad System, there is no blind spot whether the product is moving with the wind or is stationary.
3. More Branding Surface area - as the fins are double-sided, the Dart Ad offers more advertising branding area than competitive or equivalent products, with see-through of the branding not being a problem as the product is mostly never stationary enough to exhibit any see-through characteristics. The Dart Ad is a more cost-effective solution in terms of Brand area than its major competitor, the flying banner or tear drop.
4. Patent and Registered Design protection – The Dart Ad can only be bought through Right Stuff and their authorised dealers.
